About Us

The young lament, “If only I knew” while the old complain, “If only I could.” Perhaps to live life masterfully is to be able to know as one does, and to be able to do when one has knowledge; to merge knowledge and action into one.

This is exactly what we aim to accomplish in our workshops involving personal growth. During our 20-day journey, we try to improve our lives’ quality by achieving awareness in all aspects of life, and to gain the ability to make informed decisions. Time is the only thing that cannot be reversed. Is life not worth setting aside 20 days to gain the mastery that we may or may not attain by trial and error at age 80, and to be able to use this mastery in the productive years of our lives? How many of those 20 days, or even months or years do we waste because of wrong decisions? We wrongly believe we can simply escape from our own reality and waste huge amounts of money and time for this escape. An average person spends 70 days a year in front of the TV. The psychotropic drug and the entertainment industries are only two of the sectors that profit from our efforts to escape from ourselves.

Because we do not wish to face the consequences of our own thoughts, feelings, and actions we falsely believe we can evade them by blaming others, or resort to solutions that come in the form of pills. Without ever realizing that as we seek these solutions, we are being handed a bitter pill. Without ever realizing that our lives slip away even as we try to redeem them. Investment in our personal growth is the most important and foremost investment we can make.

Kuraldisi Education and Consultancy, which was established with this goal, has provided education in the field of personal growth since 1989. Workshops organized both for institutions and individuals are led by Nil Gun, who introduced the concept of personal development in Turkey at the end of the 80s, and by Saim Koc.

The personal growth workshops can be viewed as an accelerated and condensed “Game of Life.”

In these workshops, you will learn by doing what you cannot learn from books.
OK, BUT WHAT IS THIS “WORKSHOP” ABOUT?
HOW CAN IT BE “EFFECTIVE?”

As reflected by the etymology of the word, a ‘workshop’ involves active participation by all members. The goal is to develop the self; to lift emotional barriers, obsessions and fears in order to awaken the potential that lies dormant in us; to return to our Self by purging what is extraneous; to be oneself again. The tool is awareness which is awakened and empowered.

“Awareness” is a concept which unites the mind and the heart. Our mind alone does not possess the power to inspire transformation. If it did, nothing could stop us from realizing the things that we thought “should” be done. We could accelerate our development simply by controlling our mind. In practice, however, this is hardly the case. To use the analogy of the automobile, if something is keeping the engine from turning, we can floor the accelerator and the car will still not budge. Yet we often misunderstand this analogy, thinking our mind is the engine, and try to make way by pressuring it via our will (the accelerator). And it is not enough to lift the hood and see what is wrong with the engine to fix it. An action must present itself to fix the engine and to rectify the connection between it, the steering wheel and the accelerator.

This is exactly what awareness does; it allows us to understand something at the same time through the mind, emotions and intuitions; it is what our elders termed “apprehension.” The unified flow of energy at this different level of existence. The unifying power. The spark that ignites the gasoline!

This is what the workshops do: they help increase awareness. The workshops do not aim to make a “sick” person “normal;” they seek to make a “normal” person “healthy.”

“You can only heal emotions with emotions” says Nil Gun. And, in her workshops, she primarily and directly targets the emotions while, of course, speaking to the mind as well.

As part of the exercises which comprise the core of the workshop, the person ” faces, embraces and frees oneself of ” emotional barriers!

As the “blind zones” that lurk beyond our consciousness are evacuated (and the bigger these blind zones are, the more they restrict our freedom) and as light replaces the dark, we start to become one. A “shadow-will” no longer pulls on our strings from behind the curtain, we respond to life with our informed decisions.

As that which is not our own naturally flows away from our lives, we return to our own nature, we become ourselves. Our character emerges. Close behind the potential that is unleashed, follows satisfaction. Real freedom is only possible when one returns to his or her self.
